Biography
Joe was born in Rhinebeck, New York, on September 21st, 1983. He got into acting when he was 5 years old after his sister appeared in 30-odd commercials. Since then, he acted opposite some of the best actors in Hollywood as a bright, expressive actor with complexity, sensitivity, and emotion. He attended film school at USC and got a degree in cinema and television production. He plans on continuing his acting career while also following his aspirations of becoming a director.

Trivia
His parents own and operate a dance studio.

Radio Flyer (1992) began filming on Joe's 7th birthday.

Steven Spielberg swapped the ages of the children in Jurassic Park (1993) so Joe could play Tim.

Has a younger brother, John, and also has an older sister, Mary.

He was originally going to play Jack, Robin Williams' son in Hook (1991), but he was too small, so Steven Spielberg went out of his way to the point of changing the script for Jurassic Park (1993), to let him play Tim.

Raised in Hyde Park, New York.

Favorite movie is It's a Wonderful Life (1946).

Was put under a contract in 1993 for Wartime Lies, a screenplay based on the novel by Louis Begley, under direction of the late Stanley Kubrick. He was on the contract for two years. The movie was never made. It did however, lead to rumors of him being in A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001).

Favorite actor is his idol, James Stewart.

His hometown of Hyde Park, NY is where Franklin Delano Roosevelt used to live.

Has been passionate about oldies music, and when he was growing up, his sister teased him for being old-fashioned.

Graduated from USC with a degree in cinema-television production (2005).

When work began on A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) in 1993, he was cast as David.

Was considered one of the 55 faces of the future by Nylon Magazine's Young Hollywood Issue.

Attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY.
